Webinar on-demand: Where does Direct-to-Patient (DtP) fit in a post-COVID world?

By World Courier

Speakers:

  • Dr. Andrea Zobel, Senior Director Personalized Supply Chain, World Courier
  • Dr. Graham Wylie, CEO, Medical Research Network
  • Tom Roberts, Business Development Manager UK, World Courier

Overview:

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has propelled a historic and transformational shift in the clinical research industry, transforming clinical trials. This has meant finding alternative ways of working, such as utilizing new routes and adjusting study protocols, including a rise in demand for direct-to-patient delivery.

In May 2022, World Courier collaborated with Medical Research Network to take a look at the premise of this model, how investigational medicinal products (IMP) or drugs are administered in the patient’s home, and the challenges and risks involved.  Throughout the presentation and interview with Dr. Graham Wylie we explored how Direct-to-Patient services continue to experience significant growth.

This session was followed by a live Q&A with the speakers.

Key learnings:

  • Are deliveries of clinical supplies to patients allowed, forbidden or just have exceptional approval during the pandemic?
  • What is the role of a homecare nurse in a decentralized clinical trial?
  • The differences between a homecare nurse and a study nurse
  • How can we assure the investigator oversight in a decentralized clinical trial?
  • What is the relationship between the investigator and a homecare nurse?
