Important update on our COVID-19 response

As we move into the new year, the Omicron variant of COVID-19 has led to operational and supply-chain challenges in many industries globally. We want to update you on our continuing support of customers and our commitment to maintain service excellence globally. 

World Courier actively plans to minimize any impact on service by utilizing a wide range of airline partners, with which we maintain close collaboration and communication. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely, proactively taking steps to help reduce the impact on service and on-time delivery.

Airlines and ground handling

Many airlines are operating with reduced flight capacity, and we currently see an increase in cancelled flights globally. In these exceptional circumstances, World Courier understands the importance of safeguarding the supply chain and ensuring business continuity. We anticipate and react to potential adverse events using our risk-based contingency planning system.

Our ongoing assessment of the epidemic helps us determine immediate and foreseeable actions to maintain on-time delivery for all our customers. By consistently optimizing supply chains, we minimize failures through alternative routing and contingency measures where necessary. Our increased risk evaluation of critical shipments from pick up to delivery also helps reduce service disruption.

World Courier sites and staffing

Like other companies, we are experiencing staffing shortages due to the Omicron variant in many of our sites. In most cases, we can work with reduced teams, and in other cases, we have implemented our business continuity plans. You may see some delays in responses, and we will endeavour to address any issues quickly to maintain service levels.

World Courier’s safety protocols

To maintain the safety of our customers and their patients, the following safety protocols remain in place:

  • At World Courier locations, medical masks are worn by all staff, at all times
  • We’re keeping enhanced hygiene, cleaning, and safety measures in place. We always encourage our staff to wash and sanitize their hands regularly throughout the day

Visitor protocols

We continue to restrict visitors to our buildings to maintain business continuity.
