Collaboration of World Courier and Swiss WorldCargo

By World Courier

World Courier is thrilled to announce a landmark agreement with Swiss WorldCargo, the airfreight division of Swiss International Air Lines. This collaboration aims to significantly boost the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) across the biopharma logistics and airfreight sectors.

Our investment in SAF marks the highest of its kind that Swiss WorldCargo has witnessed to date. This will equate to supporting over 2,000 shipments from London to Switzerland and will result in a reduction of 146,513 kg in carbon emissions.

What is SAF?

SAF, manufactured from renewable biomass and waste resources, can reduce carbon emissions by up to 80 percent compared to conventional jet fuel. This collaboration aligns seamlessly with both parties' mission to drive a more sustainable future and is a major step toward achieving Cencora's science-based carbon reduction target of reducing absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 54.6 percent by 2032.

To celebrate this milestone, a ceremony was held at Bush House in London, where Swiss WorldCargo awarded a carbon emission reduction certificate to the World Courier team.
