His journey started from an inspiring encounter on his first day at World Courier when he visited a global company connecting bone marrow donors with their genetic twins suffering from Leukemia — "tremendously inspiring," he recalls. That meeting marked not only his beginning at World Courier but also his transition into the world of pharmaceutical logistics.

Before joining World Courier, Gonzalo had spent 12 years in the pharma industry where he learned the importance of patient-centricity from great leaders and colleagues. This experience has allowed him to contribute significantly to World Courier's vision in Chile by helping clients see beyond logistics into a realm where patients are at the center of all actions.

With every shipment, Gonzalo understands the impact it will have on patients' lives which drives his commitment and professionalism — "if there are patients who depend on our management, as a team our commitment must be total." He considers this responsibility both a pride and challenge — acknowledging that their small team in Chile receives great feedback from many clients which motivates them more to continue giving their best.

One of these challenges involved designing new routes for monthly shipments of large volumes of refrigerated medicine for key clients. Working hand-in-hand with clients and coordinating with various offices across New York and Frankfurt, they were able to design efficient solutions ensuring safe transport for life-saving medicines. This was no small feat as it required out-of-the-box thinking and creative problem-solving skills — all while maintaining focus on patient safety.

Just weeks away from celebrating one year at World Courier, Gonzalo reflects on his transformative journey so far; navigating initial challenges due to a shift in expertise area, persevering through hard work and commitment. Today, he takes pride in serving a diverse portfolio of clients including pharmaceutical laboratories, research institutions, contract research organizations (CROs), universities, and biotech companies — attributing this success to excellent teamwork.
