RECORD YEAR, NEW CORPORATE IMAGE PROPEL WORLD COURIER
INTO 2005
STAMFORD,
Connecticut, March 4, 2005—Earlier this year, World Courier
introduced its energetic new corporate logo to the public, a design that
combines crispness with motion to better keep pace with the dynamics of the
company in the 21st century.
“While some of our staff and clients may regret
that the ‘flying man’ with his briefcase [the former company logo originally
conceived in 1969] has disappeared, we felt that it was important to project an
image that is more in keeping with the company we are today,” says Wayne
Heyland, President and CEO of World Courier Group.
“The original logo – and the notion of small
envelopes and packages being carried on board by a courier – is a little
outdated in 2005,” says Mr. Heyland. “Although we still routinely handle this
type of business, it represents only a small portion of what we do. Today our
business is concentrated on providing integrated logistics solutions to the
biopharmaceutical and high-tech industries – services that range from premium
transportation capabilities to specialized warehousing to Cold Chain Management
– all coordinated by our own state-of-the-art communications. We wanted a
corporate identity that would accurately reflect the scope of this work.”
The new logo and corporate image, developed by
New York graphic artist Jeffrey Lynch, successfully integrates many of the
qualities that define World Courier’s service capabilities. The sense of
precision, speed and global scope – the foundation on which the company was
built – is visually blended with the technology and sophistication necessary to
drive it forward. Roll-out of the new identity began in February 2005 and will
be phased in across the network over the upcoming year.
“We have had a very positive response to our new
look,” says Mr. Heyland. “We hope that our customers will continue to associate
us with solutions-oriented services as we move ahead into the future.” If the
past is any indication, World Courier has much to look forward to. With its
specialized service offering, the company has enjoyed spectacular growth over
the years, including another record year for the period ending December 31,
2004 when sales revenue grew by more than 20% over 2003 results.
Incorporated in 1969,
World Courier has set the benchmark for worldwide time-sensitive
transportation. It remains the only specialist courier company with its own
global network dedicated to treating every shipment on an individual, priority
basis. Today, World Courier is the acknowledged leader in delivering customized
solutions and value-added services in growth markets such as the bio-medical,
automotive and high-tech industries. Headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut,
World Courier maintains a comprehensive international network of over 130
wholly-owned ISO 9001-certified offices operating in some 50 countries around
the globe.
